1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser to store session information, preferences or usage statistics. This website also uses localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve equivalent purposes but are stored locally without sending data to the server on every request.
2. Cookies and storage currently used by this website
2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
- Language preference (site-locale cookie): remembers your chosen language for one year. You can change it in the language menu or delete the cookie in your browser.
- User session (secure HTTP-only cookie). Applies only if you sign in at
/cuenta. Required to keep you signed in. - Theme preference (localStorage
gesac-theme). Remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. - Quotation cart (localStorage
gesac-quote-cart). Keeps the products you added before submitting your request. - Comparison list (localStorage
gesac-compare) and watchlist (gesac-watchlist). Remember the products you marked for comparison or tracking. - Cookie banner (localStorage
gesac-cookies-consent). Records your choice on this banner so it is not shown again. - Anti-bot CSRF token (Cloudflare Turnstile, when enabled). Verifies that requests come from a human rather than a script.
2.2 Analytics and measurement (consent will be required when enabled)
Currently, the website does not load third-party analytics tools. If we integrate the following in future:
- Plausible Analytics (preferred): it is cookie-free and aggregates visits without identifying individuals. Its use does not require consent because it neither installs cookies nor tracks users, but we will disclose it in this document.
- Web Vitals collected internally: we send performance metrics (LCP, CLS, INP) to our own endpoint for optimisation; they contain no personal identifiers.
2.3 Marketing and third parties
The website does not integrate pixels from Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok or equivalent services. We do not sell or transfer data to third parties for advertising purposes. If this changes, we will notify you on this page and through the banner.
3. Managing your preferences
You can manage cookies and storage through:
- The banner shown on your first visit (Accept all / Necessary only buttons).
- Your browser settings (all modern browsers let you delete and block cookies/storage by website).
- Private/incognito browsing mode (session and preferences are deleted when closed).
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the website from functioning correctly (for example, your quotation cart may be lost when you refresh).
4. Retention
- Session: up to 7 days after last use.
- Preferences (theme, watchlist, comparison): until you delete them from your browser.
- Quotation cart: until you submit the quotation request or empty it manually.
- Cookie consent: until we update the policy to a new version.
