Technical training
What we do
- Reading ISO insert codes (ANSI/ISO 1832): shape, angle, geometry and clamping
- Selecting grades for workpiece materials (ISO P, M, K, N, S, H)
- Calculating cutting conditions: Vc, fz, ap, ae, n, vf, hm
- Identifying wear modes: flank, crater, fracture, built-up edge and thermal chipping
- Troubleshooting common problems: poor finish, vibration and short tool life
- Optimising CNC cycle time: operations per part and one tool for multiple operations
- Correct maintenance and handling of inserts and insert holders
How we do it
Defining the syllabus
An initial call with HR and/or production to define the audience, starting level and specific course objectives.
Quote and schedule
We send a proposal with duration (4 to 16 hours depending on content), format (on-site or live remote), date and cost. Once accepted, we schedule it.
Tailored supporting materials
We prepare examples using your workpiece materials, physical inserts and photos of wear from your parts if you share them in advance.
Session
Theory and practical work on your shop floor for on-site courses. We work with real machines and parts, not just slides.
Certificate + follow-up
A certificate identifying each participant. A follow-up meeting after 30 days to answer questions arising during practical application.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a complete course take?
It depends on the syllabus. ISO codes and basic grade selection: 4 hours. Full selection, cutting conditions and troubleshooting course: 12–16 hours over 2–3 days.
Can you train our CAM team in cycle optimisation?
Yes. It is one of our most requested courses. We use real customer files under an NDA and review optimisation opportunities with their programmer before buying new tools.
What materials are included?
A printed workbook, PDF presentation, physical insert kit included with the course, and laminated quick-selection charts for the shop floor.
